CQ Researcher (9-12)

Founded in 1923 as Editorial Research Reports, CQ Researcher is noted for its in-depth, unbiased coverage of health, social trends, criminal justice, international affairs, education, the environment, technology and the economy. Reports are published in print and online 44 times a year by CQ Press, an imprint of SAGE Publications.

Each single-themed, 12,000-word report is researched and written by a seasoned journalist. The consistent, reader-friendly organization provides researchers with an introductory overview, which includes three pro-con debates; a background and chronology on the topic; an assessment of the current situation; tables and maps; a pro/con debate by representatives of opposing positions; and bibliographies of key sources.

Pebblego Next (k-2)

​PebbleGo Next is a kid-friendly research database for students in grades 3-6. An extension of the developer's K-2 site, PebbleGo, it lets students choose from five modules -- States, Science, American History, Biography, and Social Studies -- each one with a number of subtopics to explore. Once students decide on the focus of their research, they can click or scroll through eight different slides related to the chosen topic. Short text-based descriptions, images, videos, and games provide students with a well-rounded exploration of science- and social studies-related topics. A read-aloud feature with a word-by-word highlighter supports English-language learners (ELLs). Students may also opt to play games such as Quick Match or Jigsaw.

Book Flix 

Scholastic BookFlix is a new online literacy resource for grades PreK-3 that pairs interactive fictional video storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning.

BadgerLink is Wisconsin’s online library which provides access to licensed content such as magazines, newspapers, scholarly articles, videos, images, and music.

BadgerLink is Wisconsin's Online Library, providing Wisconsin residents with licensed content not available through regular search engines. BadgerLink is a service provided by the Department of Public Instruction and our resources and staff are paid for with state funding and federal funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
